How To Turn A Bad Day Into A Business
An inspirational story about an entrepreneur turning heartache into opportunity
--
Kindness, thoughtfulness, and empathy are powerful gifts that can have a long lasting impact on somebody else’s life.
I have always believed that a world with more empathy would be a better place.
In fact, I was recently introduced to Leeanne Antonio through a network of online entrepreneurs looking to improve their brand reach and social impact. Antonio founded her company, Bad Day Box, inspired from her own experience of going through a tough time in life.
Antonio found herself going through some bad days when she ended a long-term relationship and unexpectedly lost her job. Luckily, she was constantly surrounded by family and friends who showed great care and empathy for what she was going through in life. With all the thoughtful gestures, 3am chats, and trips she took with her friends, Antonio realized what an impact all the empathy she received had on her healing journey. The love and care she received really helped her endure, overcome, and grow from the tough times.
Once the Global Pandemic hit in 2020, Antonio realized that everyone was going through something whether it was sadness, worry, fear, or more. Antonio wanted to help and knew that she could. That was the catalyst to launching her company, Bad Day Box, where you can send empathy in a box.
What struck me as so relatable is how everyone goes through ups and downs throughout their lives. We may not see bad days based on social media or have friends gloss over their current worries to save face. However, we don’t always know the full story of what is going on behind closed doors.
Vulnerability can be hard. People don’t know what to say but want to show they care.
The idea of sending a care box for any occasion to help those you love through a time of heartache, heartbreak or more could be exactly what they need.
By building a brand around empathy, Antonio exemplifies a clear and strong desire to make the world a better place.
